The 24-Hour Day Doesn’t Reset

You don’t get to choose what you walk into. The pediatric calls, the ones that look like someone you know, the sounds you can’t unhear. Then you go home, sleep deprived, and the bottle is sitting there. We’ve treated a lot of firefighters and wildland crew. We don’t ask you to spell it out the first day. We start with sleep, with food, with letting the nervous system come down. The work happens when you’re ready.

How We Care For You

Sleep First

Most clients arrive on a sleep debt years deep. The 24/48 schedule and call volume create a specific physiological wreckage. Restoring sleep architecture is treatment, not preparation for treatment.

Trauma Stabilization

Window of tolerance, grounding, somatic resourcing. Trauma processing doesn’t start until your system can handle it.

Substance Use Treatment

Alcohol most often, sometimes opioids from a back injury, sometimes stimulants for the long shifts. We treat what’s actually there.

Trauma Processing

EMDR, prolonged exposure, CPT — selected based on what fits. Clinicians familiar with critical incident stress and structural-fire/wildland exposure patterns.

Return to Service

Coordinated with your department’s medical and PEAP/peer support resources. We can write standard return-to-duty documentation. Many departments require an evaluation we coordinate with.

What to Expect

Cancer-Adjacent Care

We know the occupational cancer numbers in fire service. If you’re navigating a diagnosis on top of substance use or PTSD, we coordinate with your oncology team and adjust care accordingly.

Wildland Crews

Wildland has its own pattern — long deployments, days of high acuity, weeks back home that don’t quite click. We’ve worked with hotshot and engine crews. The treatment respects that rhythm.

Chief Officers

By the time you’ve made battalion chief or higher, you’ve absorbed a lot. You’re also worried about reputation, succession, and what people in the rig might say. We hold that confidentially.

Firefighter Spouses

We have programming for spouses of fire service members. Often the most resilient family members are exhausted in ways they haven’t admitted. We work with them too.
